Petrobras plans to build a 17.7 MWp solar power plant at the Rio de Janeiro Energy Complex

2025-04-12

The Brazilian Federal Oil Company, Petrobras, has initiated a bidding process for the construction of a photovoltaic solar power plant at the Boaventura Energy Complex in Rio de Janeiro state.

This process involves detailed design contracting, equipment supply, construction and assembly, commissioning, start-up, and auxiliary operation, with a factory capacity of 17.7 MWp.

According to software estimation, the project is expected to require a total of 25272 700Wp photovoltaic modules and 54 solar inverters, with a nominal power of 250kW and an output voltage of approximately 800V.

These components are divided into six generator sets and equipped with a secondary substation (sliding rail substation, equipped with one dry-type transformer and nine inverters). Each generator set is equipped with 504 photovoltaic modules and solar trackers.

These solar panels are double-sided, made of monocrystalline silicon, and move along a single axis following the direction of the sun.

The bidding documents can be obtained on Petronect, the procurement website of Petrobras, with ID number 7004433230.
