AMEA Power launches 50MW solar photovoltaic project construction in Cote d'Ivoire

Recently, AMEA Power, a clean energy company in the United Arab Emirates, is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy companies in the region. Recently, AMEA Power announced the official groundbreaking of a 50MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Cote d'Ivoire.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 27, 2025, attended by His Excellency Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy of Cote d'Ivoire, and David Falcon, Chief Financial Officer of AMEA Power.

The Bondoukou solar photovoltaic power station will generate 85 gigawatt hours of clean energy annually, enough to power approximately 358000 households and offset over 52000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The project is implemented by AMEA Goutougo, a project company registered in Cote d'Ivoire and wholly owned by AMEA Power. The project is located in Bondou Kou, northeast of Gontougo.

The project, with an investment of 60 million US dollars and funding from FMO and DEG, will support the government in achieving its goal of increasing the proportion of renewable energy in the power structure to 45% by 2030.

Once put into use, it will become AMEA Power's first operational project in the country. The company also has a 50MW solar photovoltaic project in Cote d'Ivoire, which is currently undergoing post development.
